About

I made my first quilt in 1977; it took seven months to hand quilt.
That seemed like too much time, so I did not quilt for the next ten years. Then the quilting bug bit again and this time it took hold and has not let up! Now I cannot imagine not having a project in process all the time.

Traditional quilts are still a joy, but in 1996 I took a watercolor class and liked it so much that I specialized in that when I started my pattern business, Mostly Quilts, in 1999. This style allows me to use all those beautiful florals and create something impressive with simple 2” squares. I also teach this technique and enjoy seeing students master a style that is new to them.

Currently, I am experimenting with a variety of art quilt designs, often using fiber embellishments and beads. I really enjoy the creative process and seeing what direction evolves. Sometimes it seems that the quilt has a mind of its own!

Why the name “Mostly Quilts”? Although I design small framed pieces and print notecards and other items from my art quilt images, my passion is directed toward “mostly quilts”.

My home is in Terrell, Texas in the country and my studio is in a historic building in downtown Terrell. It is a wonderful place to work. I feel very fortunate to have a space dedicated to my passion.
